Arafat Says Uprising Will Continue

By GREG MYRE

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) A defiant Yasser Arafat said Thursday the Palestinian uprising will continue despite Israel's warning delivered with rocket attacks on the bases of Palestinian security forces that he must rein in militants who killed three Israeli children this week.

(Yasser Arafat is a TERRORIST "Free Press"!  I am sure we are going to be treated to yet another "there are two sides to every coin"  story that is nauseatingly sympathetic to the MURDEROUS TERRORIST Palestinians!  For an example of Yasser's handy work that the "Free Press" refuses to give a headline to while they harp on another terrorist's killing of innocent children, Timothy McVeigh, here is a picture of a 10 month old Jewish child with a head wound from a Palestinian sniper's gun, she died by the way... [Warning: Graphic Picture] - tha malcontent)

In fresh clashes Thursday, three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire. A policeman died in a gun battle near the Jewish settlement of Netzarim in Gaza, while two boys, ages 13 and 17, were shot dead in a stone-throwing clash near the Erez crossing between Gaza and Israel. Eight teen-agers were wounded in the fighting.

(This is real simple, the Palestinians are refusing to cease their random murderous terrorist activities and the Israeli Government is retaliating on terrorist targets, NOT randomly killing innocents.  There is a right and a wrong in this battle, the Jews are RIGHT! - tha malcontent)

In Hebron, Israeli tanks shelled a Palestinian neighborhood after gunmen positioned there fired at Jewish enclaves in the divided West Bank town. Thick black smoke rose from two homes after shells hit.

(I wonder how many paragraphs will be dedicated to the Israeli retaliation to the Palestinians terrorism and just how sympathetic the tone will be towards the PLO... let's read and find out, shall we! - tha malcontent)

In Wednesday night's rocket attack, windows were shattered in Arafat's two-story villa in Gaza City. The main aim was the headquarters of Force 17, a Palestinian security service, in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank town of Ramallah. One Force 17 member was killed, and dozens of Palestinians were injured in the bombardment.

(I bet a 10 month old girls MURDER by a Palestinian terrorist sniper's gun will not receive this much sympathetic copy, if any at all! - tha malcontent)

Since late September, 446 people have been killed in Israeli-Palestinian fighting, including 365 Palestinians, 62 Israeli Jews and 19 others.

(The statistics... of course this is designed to create the perception of a one sided conflict that portrays the Israelis as the aggressors.  Nice job "Free Press"! - tha malcontent)

The bombardment was the first military strike ordered by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The United States implicitly criticized Israel, saying there was no military solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. That reaction came hours after the United States, standing by Israel, used its first U.N. veto since 1997 to kill a Security Council resolution backing a U.N. observer force to help protect Palestinians.

("Free Press", where is the "implicit criticism" of Arafat and his terrorism!?  The anti-Israeli bias here is absolutely sickening! - tha malcontent)

Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres said the rocket attacks were intended as a ``very serious warning, mainly to Force 17,'' which Israel has accused of involvement in attacks on Israeli civilians. The security service is on Arafat's payroll, ``and he has to bring them in line,'' Peres told Israel army radio.

Arafat responded that the Palestinian people would not be cowed by the rocket attacks or other Israeli measures, such as blockades of Palestinian towns.

(Back to Palestinian sympathizing... So very predictable "Free Press", so very predictable and so very sad! - tha malcontent)

``Our people will continue the Al Aqsa uprising until we raise the Palestinian flag in every mosque and church and on the walls of Jerusalem,'' Arafat said after his motorcade stopped briefly near the scorched mobile homes that are part of the Force 17 headquarters. Arafat was on his way back from the two-day Arab League summit in Amman, Jordan.

(How much more copy will the American Ministry of Propaganda, the "Free Press", give to the forwarding of the Palestinian terrorist cause?  This is pathetic! - tha malcontent)

Peres, meanwhile, acknowledged that the United States had not been warned of the rocket attack, despite Sharon's promises to President Bush that the Israeli leader would not surprise him.

(Now the "Free Press" is back to criticizing the Jews! - tha malcontent)

``What happened was not in the nature of a surprise,'' Peres said. ``We've had two terrible days, the entire country,'' he added, referring to a shooting attack and two suicide bombings that killed a 10-month-old Israeli girl and two teen-agers and left scores wounded.

(Notice how the "Free Press" waits until after you are inundated with their pro-Palestinian propaganda to mention this child's MURDER!  They can't even say it themselves, they just quote an Israeli in a way that makes it seem that he is justifying the "murder" of Palestinians with this "alleged" 10-month-old Israeli girl's death.  Here is another chance to see an innocent casualty of Palestinian TERRORISM!  Remember the video of the Palestinian child who was unfortunately caught in the crossfire and was killed a couple of months ago?, the "Free Press" was more than happy to show us that!  For that reason, here is the "other" side... [Warning: Graphic Picture] - tha malcontent)

Islamic militants claimed responsibility for the suicide attacks, while Israel has blamed the Tanzim militia linked to Arafat's Fatah movement for the death of the baby. Israeli security officials have said Force 17 was involved in earlier shooting attacks on Israeli civilians.

(The "Free Press" only refers to "Pro-Lifers" in America as "terrorists" in the year 2001!  Left-wing terrorists are at best "militants" or "pro-whatever cause-activists"! - tha malcontent)

Peres acknowledged that Israel's range of responses was limited. Under Sharon's predecessor, Ehud Barak, Israel had also rocketed Palestinian targets, but failed to stop the fighting, now in its seventh month.

(It has "failed to stop the TERRORISM"!  Use the proper English "Free Press"!  Stop rewriting the language with Newspeak! - tha malcontent)

Peres said attacks on Israelis were perhaps launched without Arafat's knowledge, but that Israel has briefed him on the culprits.

``We expected to see restraining action ... and when this didn't happen, we were left with no choice,'' Peres said, adding that he still considered Arafat a partner, albeit one who has made mistakes.

(Peres sees TERRORIST Arafat as a "partner" who has made "mistakes"?  That is part of the problem right there! - tha malcontent)

Some Israeli observers said the bombings were ineffective.

(And of course this assertion by the "Free Press" is only designed to create a perception that Israelis do not agree with Sharon's handling of this situation, when in all reality he couldn't have been elected with a larger margin of the vote a couple of months ago by campaigning to do just this very thing! - tha malcontent)

``The real aim was to calm those in Israel who demand revenge, so that they will not take the law into their own hands,'' said Ron Ben-Ishai, military commentator of the Yediot Ahronot daily.

(And of course Ron speaks for all Israelis! - tha malcontent)

In Hebron, where the baby was killed, Jewish settlers have torched Arab-owned stores and cars and have repeatedly tried to enter Palestinian-controlled neighborhoods. Settlers, angry at being restrained, have scuffled with Israeli soldiers, cursed them and thrown eggs at them.

(Sources close to the "Free Press" say that the "Free Press" thinks that these actions by the Israelis are only hurting the peace process and that a 10-month-old is really only two "late-term abortions" old and the Israelis should just get over it! Sources also said that the "Free Press" questions the Jews "love affair with the fetus"! - tha malcontent)

Palestinian officials said Israel was trying to impose its political will on the Palestinians with the attacks. Sharon has proposed negotiating a long-term interim deal, an offer the Palestinians have turned down.

(And of course, the final volley goes to... the Palestinians!  Well, why don't we sum up the bias here, paragraph by paragraph.  Out of 19 paragraphs, 12 are pro-Palestinian, 3 are pro-Israeli and 4 are arguably neutral.  This is a common pattern with the "Free Press" when covering virtually any "political" story. When I attempt to contact the AP about this type of blatant bias in their "reporting", I am met with a dial tone!  It's for this reason that the ap will continue until the "Free Press" returns to its Constitutional mandate of being free from influence, or I am silenced by virtue of an un-Constitutional ruling by the Supreme Court someday in the future! Until then, the Liberty Project continues! - tha malcontent)
