 Trial in Brutal Killings Grips Kan.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) �� The grim details of how two brothers allegedly committed a nine-day crime rampage that left five people dead are being closely monitored by a community that is still shaken nearly two years after the slayings and more than a month into the brothers' murder trial.

 

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP VII!  Can I assume that the AP means "African American, and or "Black" when they use the term "brothers"?  Of course, these two ANIMALS are physically siblings, so I know that the AP is not referring to their ethnicity as they did with a sadistic redundancy from 1991 to present day with the "King beating".  This is from an AP story titled: " The Legacy of Rodney King", on March 3rd of this year, and I might add, posted at the top of the main Wire, we have this piece of race-baiting TRIPE!: "Mere mention of the 1991 beating causes those in power to cringe as they recall the morning the city awoke to a chilling video of the black motorist being clubbed and kicked over and over by four white police officers as he writhed in agony on the ground."  AP writer Linda Deutsch goes the hell out her way to make the King incident an issue of racism, as the AP did back in 1991 along with all of it's children in the "Free Press", refusing to acknowledge that King was not simply a "Black motorist", he was in the commission of a crime and before he was on the ground, he attacked the officers and refused to submit even after 2 tazer shots while his Black passenger was left unharmed!  To clarify, where the AP is incapable, due to their own collective "White Liberal Guilt", the two ANIMALS on trial currently in Kansas are Black, and all of their victims were White.  You have heard next to nothing about this case due to the fact that the accused, murderous, rapist Sodomists are young Black males, and their victims were all White.  If the race roles were reversed, the AP would be tripping all over itself to post this at the top of main Wire daily.  Instead, like the stories about the Black animals in Chicago and Milwaukee who brutally murdered their own in DemocRAT "Great Society" Ghettos, or Miss Chante Mallard who ran down a White homeless man, drove him home and left him to die impaled in her windshield in her garage, this story was not even posted on the Wire.  I had to find it through an AP affiliate.  It must really be a miserable existence to be as self-loathing and dishonest as the majority of the White employees appear to be over at the AP!  Memo to the AP:  If my mentioning race in this case makes me a "White Supremacist", as you weakly attempt to insinuate later in this story, then what does your injecting race into "White on Black" events make you? - tha malcontent)

The apparently random abduction of five friends from a home on Dec. 14, 2000, is the darkest detail to surface. Investigators say the victims were forced to engage in sexual acts and withdraw money from automated teller machines. Then they were all shot, execution-style, as they knelt in the snow on a dark soccer field.

 

(I believe they are accused of sodomizing one of the men too!  Maybe the AP is burying this story from two fronts, race and sexual orientation! - tha malcontent)

Four of them � Aaron Sander, 29; Heather Muller, 25; Brad Heyka, 27; and Jason Befort, 26, died.

Befort's girlfriend, then a 25-year-old teacher, survived. Bleeding from a head wound, she ran barefoot and naked through the snow for nearly a mile to find help. The brothers were caught within hours.

Reginald Carr, 24, and Jonathan Carr, 22, now face a total of 113 charges, including murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

In opening arguments, Reginald Carr's attorney, John Val Wachtel, alleged Jonathan Carr committed the crimes with a third man who has never been caught. Wachtel said his client was selling drugs the night of the quadruple homicide.

Jonathan Carr's lawyer, Mark Manna, argued that no evidence connects his client to the earlier robberies. He discounted ballistics evidence, saying that even if Reginald Carr is connected to the crimes, it does not mean his client is.

The alleged crime spree began on Dec. 7, 2000, with the abduction of Andrew Schreiber, who was also forced to withdraw cash from an ATM but was unharmed. Schreiber testified Monday that when he later saw a news report of the arrest of a man accused in the murders, he recognized Reginald Carr as one of two men who abducted him.

The crimes escalated on Dec. 11 with the shooting during an attempted robbery of Ann Walenta, 55, who later died.

 

(The crimes escalated on Dec. 11?  If all 113 charges had been listed by the AP, this statement would seem absurd! - tha malcontent)

The case has become a rallying cry for white supremacists groups across the nation because the suspects are black while all the victims were white. Weeks before the trial was set to begin, a Nazi group held a rally in Topeka where the case was repeatedly cited.

 

(But when it's a White punk gunning down a Black couple and then robbing them, it's not racist for the AP to make light of the race of the parties involved?  This is PURE CRAP AP and you know it! - tha malcontent)

Prosecutors are not trying the case as a hate crime. They say robbery was the motive.

 

(This is truly unfortunate.  If robbery was the motive, then why rape, sodomize and make the victims have sex with each other before torturing and executing them? - tha malcontent)

Wichita Mayor Bob Knight � who has made improving race relationships a cornerstone of his administration � said Friday that regardless of race and ethnicity, what occurred could be described as "raw, brutal and evil."

 

(If this was White on Black, the phrase "regardless of race and ethnicity" would be attached to some "White Supremacist" group attempting to "defend the indefensible" by the AP! - tha malcontent)

"You have innocent people tortured, killed, humiliated by someone who is little more than an animal. I'm not looking at it as a black and white issue," Knight said. "I am not a big fan of capital punishment, but if anything deserves people losing their lives, it is this kind of heinous crime."

 

(Death is the only Justice... Aside from the same brutality being visited on these "animals", as the Mayor correctly describes them! - tha malcontent)

Jurors appeared riveted by the survivor's testimony on Oct. 10.

"As I was kneeling, there was a shot. And I don't remember, we were all screaming, but I can remember hearing Aaron say, 'please no' � he used the word 'sir.' There was another one, and another one, and then another one, and then everything kind of went gray as I was shot," she said.

She said she felt the impact of the bullet, but did not fall forward until one of the men kicked her. She heard the men get into the truck and waited until she could no longer see headlights before she got up to check on her friends to see if they were alive.

"I went to Jason," she said. "I rolled him over. He had blood coming out of one of his eyes. I still had on my sweater and I took it off and tied it around his head to act as a tourniquet to try to stop it."

 

(As sickening as this is, coupled with the torture that came before it, the AP should be ashamed of hiding this from "the people"! - tha malcontent)

The trial began Sept. 9. Jury selection lasted 18 days. The state was still presenting and planned to resume on Monday.

Dan Walker, a construction worker who was working at a job at the Sedgwick County Courthouse where the case is being tried, spent his lunch break watching the trial on TV.

"It was so bad what was done to these girls and these boys � it wasn't just homicide, it was brutal murder," Walker said.

Denise Taylor, a courthouse worker, says she listens to or watches the trial coverage every day.

"I want to see what it is that provoked them to do such heinous crimes, and why five people couldn't overpower them to save their lives," Taylor said.

 

("...and why five people couldn't overpower them to save their lives."  Classic example of blaming the victim or at least sharing some blame because the accused are Black.  If Denise is Black, this makes sense.  If she is White, she probably voted for Algore in 2000 and is carrying my share of the guilt for the White race on her back!  When I say that Rodney King should not have had a prior record, or outrun 3 counties worth of police and State Patrol, or exited the vehicle and attacked the police, or refused to stay down after 2 tazer shots, or reached for the female officer's gun subsequently authorizing lethal force, all of this combined with the FACT that the Black passenger in Kings car did not receive a scratch, I'm the racist!  With all of those facts at hand, the AP continues to call King a "motorist"!  Is this getting any clearer?  - tha malcontent)

But at Augusta High School � where Befort was a science teacher and junior varsity basketball coach � the radios have been turned off in the administration offices.

The deaths hit teachers and students hard, and the school was shut down for the funeral, said superintendent Jim Markos.

"That was kind of closure for us, and it was a good closure," Markos said. "Now it was reopened again with the trial."
