Rallies Mark Roe V. Wade Anniversary

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)
Thousands of abortion opponents shouldering signs with slogans such as "Peace Begins in the Womb" marched in protest of the 33-year-old Roe v. Wade decision, while abortion rights supporters along the march route waved clothes hangers and shouted "Bigots go home."

(ap) - If you Advocate for saving ALL Human Life in the Womb, you are a "Bigot"?...  Is this where the Left really is today?  It's this simple, even many Pro-Abortion Law Experts agree that Roe was Bad Law.  We want it Revisited for that reason, and because Technology has Progressed in such a way that the Court needs to see new Evidence that was not Available in 1973.  Having just watched my Child Develop in the Womb, seeing her smile in the Womb, something that was not Available 33 years ago to the Court, it is my Goal that this Ruling be Revisited, and let the chips fall where they may.  Personally, I want Enumerated Rights, Enumerated via the Process that the Founders laid out, not by what Jefferson called the "Despotic Branch", and the "Great Object of his Fear", the Supreme Court.  The "Opinion" of the simple Majority of 9 Politically Appointed, Life Tenured Humans, is not where I want "Rights" being Created. - tha malcontent)

The dueling protests marking Sunday's anniversary of the Supreme Court decision reflected the growing tension at a time the makeup of the high court is about to change with Justice Sandra Day O'Connor's retirement.

(The make-up of the Court needs to Return to Applying the Law and the Constitution, not Attempting to Change or Make it.  That is the Legislature (The People), and the President's job. - tha malcontent)

"It's a crucial time," said abortion rights supporter Carol Norris, 43, who joined the counter-protest in San Francisco Saturday. "We have (Judge Samuel) Alito poised to be on the Supreme Court, and he's clearly an anti-choice person."

("Choice"... It's not a "Choice". it's a Human Life with a Heartbeat.  At least the AP called them what they are, "Abortion Rights Supporters"... The Problem is, no Person can Constitutionally have a "Right" to take another Person's Life without Due Process of Law.  When the Court sees the Evidence of what is happening in the Womb, it will be Impossible for any Honest Justice to Rule that Personhood only starts after the first Breath of Air. - tha malcontent)

On the other side, college student Laura Arnold, 20, of Pleasanton, Calif., marched with her mother opposing abortion, saying: "We're here to stand up for the babies that don't have a voice."

(The Most Innocent among us... End of List! - tha malcontent)

"I know so many girls who did it and they are hurting every day of their life," Arnold said.

(I wonder why the "Free Press" never Focuses on these Women?... - tha malcontent)

The Supreme Court handed down its decision in Roe vs. Wade on Jan. 22, 1973, and abortion has been legal in the United States ever since. But efforts to restrict or outlaw the procedure have been just as enduring; 34 states have passed laws requiring parents either to be notified or to give consent when their underage daughters seek abortions.

(Yeah, there was a time when those States allowed non-Doctor Abortionists to have Access to an Underage Girl's Private regions, and could do so without Notification of the Parents... But God forbid they get their Ears Pierced! - tha malcontent)

"Abortion rights have been slowly whittled away while we haven't even been looking," said Kitty Striker, 22, who decorated her hair with small coat hanger replicas for the counter-protest. "That's what's so shocking and so scary to me."

(Ah yes... The Coat hangers.  I am supposed to be Moved by a Coat hanger, but they are not Moved by a Mutilated, Fully Developed Unborn Child?... PAH-LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! - tha malcontent)

Many abortion opponents said they were heartened by President Bush's choice of Alito to replace O'Connor, a moderate who was often the court's swing vote.

("A Moderate who was often the Court's swing Vote"?...  She swung to the Left, as the "Free Press" likes, but that's being "Moderate"?... If she swung to the Right, she would have been called an Activist Judge.  This is so Transparent, that it's Sad. - tha malcontent)

Alito's refusal during his confirmation hearings to agree with assertions by Democrats that Roe v. Wade was "settled law" upset abortion rights activists.

(Nothing is "Settled Law"... PURE TRIPE!  Does the "Free Press" and the Left feel that Dred Scott is "Settled Law"? - tha malcontent)

The largest abortion demonstration was expected Monday in Washington, D.C., where anti-abortion activists planned to converge on the mall to hear speakers supporting their cause and march on the Congress and Supreme Court.

(Wow, I keep seeing this word "Abortion, but I thought the Baby-Mill Supporters were Rallying for "Choice", not "Abortion... Interesting. - tha malcontent)

In Michigan, a group pastors and ministry leaders used the anniversary Sunday to launch a new anti-abortion organization, Michigan Chooses Life. One goal is to support efforts to get a measure on the 2006 ballot that would change the state constitution to legally define a person as existing at the moment of conception. The American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan has said that even if the measure did succeed, it would be challenged in court.

(OK, it's time for a Juvenile shot at the AP's Editors... What in the hell is a "Group Pastors"?... - tha malcontent)

At the San Francisco protest, Archpriest Michael Regan of St. Michael's Orthodox Church in Concord, Calif., said it was important to show how mixed public opinion is on abortion, even in liberal cities like San Francisco.

(No, it's Established Law, so sit down and shut up. - tha malcontent)

"You do get the impression that there isn't anyone here for the right to life, but look around," he said.

(You mean there's other than "Abortion is a Right" views in this Nation?... Even in San Francisco?... I am Shocked... SHOCKED!  I Love how the "Free Press" is always set back by these long Established Realities.  Try getting out of your Liberal Social Circles once and a while, mmmkay! - tha malcontent)
