Kerry Accuses Dean of Liking the Yankees

BOSTON (
AP) Massachusetts Senator John Kerry is again challenging presidential rival Howard Dean's allegiance to Red Sox Nation.

(ap) - Well, isn't the Associated Press just having a fine time with THEIR Party's Candidates on the nation's main Wire with this piece of stanky PAP!!  The AP is really outdoing itself with these hard hitting topics.  Why, just the other day it was "what's each candidate's favorite song".  I guess I should be thankful that the AP has taken at least one short break from overloading the Wire with negative attacks from the DemocRAT candidates in this race, of course, thinly veiled as legitimate Wire copy, but in reality, nothing more than DNC Talking points, masquerading as "objective" news.  Has the AP, or any other "Free Press" outlet, "exposed" anything about these 10... Correction, 9 "Doles", as they did with the Governator?  Of course they haven't, they don't go after their own!  The AP is an obedient little lap-dog for the DemocRATS... Always have been, always will be.  Anyway, let's get on with yet another pathetic example of wishful thinking on the part of the Molesters of the First Amendment, also known as the Associated Press, shall we! - tha malcontent)

With Boston preparing to face archrival New York in the American League Championship Series, Kerry said Tuesday that if New York beats Boston in the best-of-seven series that begins Wednesday, he'll send New England clam chowder to Dean's campaign. He wants Manhattan chowder from Dean if Boston wins.

(Quality journalism AP, and I must admit, worthy of Main Wire coverage!  By the way, that smell, it's sarcasm, remember what it smells like, for future reference! - tha malcontent)

Kerry last month accused Dean, the former Vermont governor and current front-runner for the Democratic nomination, of being a Yankees fan.

(Is this Orwellian, or is it just me? - tha malcontent)

Dean, a New York native, called the accusation insulting, and insisted he backs Boston.

(Excuse me for a moment, while I chuck my lunch! - tha malcontent)

"Howard Dean has a relationship with the Yankees that goes way back so we hope he is willing to put some chowder behind his childhood team," Kerry spokeswoman Kelley Benander said.

Dean, however, told reporters in Iowa that he's rooting for the Red Sox. He's also pulling for the Chicago Cubs to beat the Florida Marlins in the National League Championship Series.

"I always root for the underdog," Dean said. "Those are the two biggest underdogs."

(How sweet, a baseball analogy... So which candidate are you rooting for more in 2004, AP? - tha malcontent)

Kerry, better known for sailboarding and ice hockey than for baseball banter, also plans to launch a "Cowboy Up for Kerry" effort, using the slogan Red Sox players adopted for the stretch run.

Hypersensitive Red Sox fans take New York-Boston stuff seriously. The Red Sox last won the World Series in 1918 and a year later sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees. As the Yankees have gone on to win 26 World Series titles, some Red Sox fans have come to believe their team has been undermined by the "Curse of the Bambino."

("Hypersensitive Red Sox fans take New York-Boston stuff seriously."... This is not a quote, this a statement made by the AP on the Main news Wire.  Any Bostonians care to take issue with this pejorative, insensitive and insulting remark about them, by the nation's Wire?  Oh yeah, memo to the AP: "Stuff" is not the most eloquent use of the language, that we have all agreed upon, while dry humping the "Freedom of the Press" clause of the First Amendment, but you probably know that, don't you AP? - tha malcontent)

Meanwhile at the White House, President Bush says he's staying out of the fray.

(Do I sense a veiled jab at POTUS (R) coming?... - tha malcontent)

Asked Tuesday at a press conference "Red Sox or Yankees?" Bush said the matchup is "good for baseball."

"My team, of course, was eliminated in June," he said, referring to the lowly Texas Rangers, a team he used to own.

(Nice job AP!  Once again, you have illustrated your bias, in a quality fashion, by omission and commission.  James Madison is rolling in his grave!... And you are probably just waiting for the full roll over, so that you can stop dry humping the Constitution, and instead, dry hump it's dead author's corpse!  Oh yes I did, and they are MORE than deserving, based on their abuse of the "Right" that they are so obviously taking part in on a daily, right on their very own Wire!  Have a nice "the state of Cauliflower is Free" day!  And remember, "It's not a tumor... It's not!" - tha malcontent)
