Cautious joy as
blacks imagine Obama win
By JESSE WASHINGTON
AP National Writer Nov 1, 12:34 PM EDT
(AP) Lula Cooper expects the
tears to flow if Barack Obama becomes the first black president. But she's not
breaking out the tissues just yet.
(ap) - Point of Fact, he's Possibly going to become
the First Half White/Half Black President. As for his "Black Experience", I've
had a Blacker one and I am West Virginia Cracker. He was Born to a Kansan White
Woman and a Kenyan Father... No Slave Blood. He was then Raised by his White
Grandparents in the Island Paradise of Hawaii where they Sacrificed for this
"Black Child" and sent him to Prep Schools... His Thanks?... Call them Racist
for Political Expediency when his 20 Year Mentor and Pastor is being Called out
for the Racist he is. About as Classless as his Throwing his Illegal Immigrant
Auntie under the Bus with them Today. - tha malcontent)
"I cried when I marked my ballot for him. We've had such an incredible journey
to this point," said the former civil rights activist, her voice quavering. "I
think he's going to win, but I really am very, very cautious."
(It's about Race... And that is Sad. It's NOT about
the "Content of his Character"... It's about Half of his Skin Color. We have
Achieved NOTHING Regarding Race Relations with this Candidate, we have Simply
Illustrated that there is still a LONG way to go until Whitey has Gotten his. -
tha malcontent)
Like a Hollywood blockbuster whose conclusion feels assured but still sets the
heart racing, the endgame of this election has gripped black America with a
powerful mixture of emotions.
(Is this a News Story, or an Editorial?... - tha
malcontent)
Obama's potential victory represents a previously unimaginable triumph over
centuries of racism. But beneath the hope and pride lies fear: of polling
inaccuracy, voting chicanery, or the type of injustice and violence that have
historically stymied African-American progress.
(Polling Inaccuracy?... Oh yeah!... When the NYT/CBS
Poll has a Double Digit Difference from Gallup, there's Obviously Issues with
the Polling... It should be Called "Hopeful Wishing", not Polling. As to the
"Voting Chicanery", that's on the Left... ACORN, anyone?... $800,000 to them in
the Primaries by Obama and now Investigations and Fraud from Coast to Coast in
FAVOR of Barry. Couple that with the 11th Hour Admission by the AP that their
Coverage and the rest of their Children in the Media's has been OVERWHELMINGLY
Biased Against McCain, and you have the Possibility of Obama Winning... This is
Called Affirmative Actioning an Election, and it's Shameless... But the AP Long
ago Shed itself of the Burden of Shame when they Stood by the Deliberately Early
and Inaccurate Call of Florida for Algore Junior in 2000... In Spite of the
Facts. - tha malcontent)
Cooper, 75, experienced the oppression of the 1950s and '60s as she was dragged
off to jail for protesting segregation in Wilmington, Del., where her husband
was DuPont's first black chemist. Now living in the Southwest, she said she
experienced modern politics when her husband lost a recent bid to become their
city's first black mayor after the election was switched to mail-in ballots
rather that polling-place voting.
(What in the Hell does his Loss have to do with Mail
in Ballots?... Blacks can't Mail in Ballots?... I Thought the Left Preferred it
that way so they could Manipulate Outcomes Easier?... - tha malcontent)
So when it comes to Obama, Cooper is "optimistic and hopeful - but experience
plays a big part."
(Yeah, the Brother Man can EVER Catch a Break, and
it's always Whitey's Fault. - tha malcontent)
"With my generation, in the '60s every leader that we had was killed," she said.
"Then it's almost like a plate over your heart. Once you've been hurt - King,
Kennedy, Medgar Evers - you dare not put that much emotion out there again."
(Every Leader was Killed?... I bet Je$$e Jack$on has
an Issue with that Assertion... After all, he had to Apologize for the Blood
Incident with King's Assassination and he Seems to still be Living... Hell, he
Ran for President once or twice, didn't he?... Like 20 Years ago. - tha
malcontent)
With even some Republicans using the word "miracle" to characterize the prospect
of a victory by GOP candidate John McCain, given his lagging poll numbers, the
shock of an Obama loss would be almost incalculable for many blacks. So people
are protecting themselves.
(I can Venture a Calculation for you if Barry
Loses... Get the **** out of Chicago, LA, Detroit and a number other Cities when
that News Breaks... Your Life could Depend on it. Blacks have Burned Cities Down
in the Modern Day for Police "Beatings" that Lasted 11 Second too Long... - tha
malcontent)
"I can't tell you how much fear, but at the same time joy and expectation I
have," said James Lowry, a management consultant from Chicago. "It revolves
around every five minutes. I have hope, I read the polls, I get excited, then I
say, 'Anything can happen.'"
(Yep.. Like 1/3 of the Racist White DemocRATS that
the AP Polled not Voting for Barry... That could Happen... But it won't be
Blamed on them if he Loses... That's Reserved for Whites with an (R). - tha
malcontent)
Michael Cornwell, a surgeon from Atlanta, checks poll numbers daily online and
fully expects Obama to win. Still, "you can't shake the tension," he said.
(A Black Surgeon?... I had not Idea... Of course I
am being Sarcastic. A Guilty White Liberal at the AP can't even See that they
are Talking to a BLACK SURGEON!... Yeah, America is one Racist Bitch. - tha
malcontent)
"We're expecting something to come out, some closing of the polls," Cornwell
said on Thursday. "I see these Republican-driven articles saying the polls are
tightening. Are they correct, or are they just a combination of Republicans
wanting to make it look good and the media wanting it to be a tight race so more
of the population will be engaged or buying copy?"
(Wishful Hoping is what the "Free Press" Polls
are... Oversampling of DemocRATS... And of course, where are they Sampling?...
Anyone Know?... I better Stop Asking Questions... The AP may Try to Destroy me
for Embarrassing their Messiah as they Tried with Joe the Plumber and Various
other News Outlets who Dared Questioning the Half-Black Jesus. - tha malcontent)
Paul Durr of Guys, Tenn., voted early last week. "I was jumping up and down," he
said. "The other people in line thought I was crazy."
(Jumping up and Down... Now Imagine the Response to a Loss that is Painted as
"Possibly Stolen"... Hope those in the Cities have Arson Insurance. - tha
malcontent)
"If Obama wins, and I know he's going to win, it will pull this country together
in terms of race relations," said Durr, who owns a cemetery monument company and
is mayor of Guys, pop. 500.
(A Black Business Owner and Mayor?... Wow... Slavery
is Alive and Well at the Back of the American Bus, eh?... - tha malcontent)
"He has to win," Durr said. "If he doesn't, I think you'll see this country -
I'm afraid to say what I think would happen the next day. I don't even want to
think that way."
(^****ING BINGO!... And you were Reading my
Commentary and Thinking, how Racist of mal to Assume that... Well, there you
have it. - tha malcontent)
Even if the polls do prove accurate and Obama does win, some of his enthusiastic
supporters still have concerns about what lies beyond the mountaintop.
(It's Never Over... Not until Whitey Pays... - tha
malcontent)
"The empire is in decline, the culture is in decay, the democracy is in trouble,
financial markets near collapse," said Princeton professor Cornel West. "It's
almost Biblical. And you can imagine what the black brothers and sisters in the
barbershops and beauty salons say: 'Right when the thing is about to go under,
they hand it over to the black man.'"
(Wow... Just Wow... And if you Think Cornel is a
Rare Voice, you are Ignorant... We have Serious Issues in this REPUBLIC
Regarding Race... - tha malcontent)
"If people think Obama being elected is the crescendo, they'll be disappointed,"
said talk show host Tavis Smiley. "That's when the real work begins."
(Again, it's Never Over... Whitey Must Pay! - tha
malcontent)
"I'm not sure people have considered, in the euphoria and jubilation and
excitement, the fishbowl Obama will be in," Smiley said. "How everything he does
for black people, he runs the risk of being accused of being tribal."
(He has no Connection but Political to your Tribe,
Tavis... He is Using you like he Used his Grandmother. Race is a just an Avenue
to an End for him. Now you can be Angry about being Played by a "Black Man"...
And when that Realization Comes, be sure and Call him "Hi-Yella!" - tha
malcontent)
That sentiment is not lost on Leomia Dyches, a sometimes-employed hospital
worker and single mother from Philadelphia with one son at home, an older son
locked up, and several grandchildren to help look after.
(^Thanks Again Democrat Party... You Fostered this
Crisis in the Black Community for GENERATIONS all for the Vote every other 2
Years... If you had any Souls - tha malcontent)
"I think it's great, but I'm not looking for no miracle anytime soon," she said.
"Hopes are really raised too high now because they're looking for a quick fix,
and that's not going to happen."
(Why would Barry do anything Good for the Country as
a Whole?... Seen Chicago Recently?... It's More Deadly for Americans there than
in Iraq. - tha malcontent)
Then something wells up inside her. "But I know while he's in office, before he
leaves he can put some good things in place for poor people."
(Just like he did in Chicago?... Keep Expecting
something Different from the Same Troth... Can someone Name me a Black City that
DemocRATS have Turned around?... Didn't Think so. Obama is Bad for this
REPUBLIC, and his Loss will be Also. Either way, this Election is Bad for the
Country, and after it's Over, you will Witness why... I will be Praying that I
am Wrong. - tha malcontent.)
"My 16-year-old son, he sees hope," she continued. "A lot of these kids have no
hope, it's day in, day out, same thing. They can't look forward to anything
different. But a lot of these kids are excited. I have a 6-year-old grandson,
and that's all he talks about, 'Obama, vote for Obama, don't vote for John
McCain.' My 4-year-old granddaughter told me last night, 'Not John McCain.'
"It's always been said that you can do anything, but now we can see it. My
parents have always said it, but it was like, 'Yeah, right.' But now it's here
and it's facing you and it can be done. It can be done. These kids have to know,
whatever they have in mind for their future, it can be done."
(That's just
Sad... So many Things have Improved and yet there is so Much DemocRAT Manifested
Lack of Hope in these Areas that have been Controlled by DemocRATS for
Generations... Obama can't Deliver Hope... It's a Bumper Sticker to get him in
Office. You have to Find your Freedom in yourself. The New Slavery
is Dependence on the System and a Lack of Expectation. Obama is going to
have Expectations of his Constituency any more than the Non-Half-White DemocRATS
have, and you can Hear it in what he says with "Spread the Wealth" and so many
other things... Just Sad. - tha malcontent)
