UPI: More
U.S. Women Crack Glass Ceiling
CHICAGO, Dec. 22 (UPI)
For the first time since tracking began 20 years ago, U.S. women outnumber men
in higher paying, white collar managerial and professional occupations.
(ap) - There is one
thing that must be clarified, right away... The AP is not reporting on
this story via any outlet I can find. This is yet another example of the
AP being so for the Leftist Agenda in this Country, that they cannot see the
dramatic improvements for the people they claimed to champion decades ago, and
Justifiably so, I might add. Ignoring good news, while there is an (R) in
Office, is not going to help you to retain Credibility AP! Since this
happened under Bush (43)'s Watch, does that mean that he can claim that he
helped Women finally make it in America, when he campaigns next year for his
inevitable Second Term? Seriously though, Congratulations to the collective
American Woman... Of course, there has been harm done to the fabric of America
because of the breakdown of the Family, but why spoil a good Party with nasty
consequences of certain actions taken by a population under the guise of
Equality! The intentions were good, right? As if Woman as Mothers were ever
unequal to Men as Worker/Providers, in Principle. That's the real Tragedy, that
Women ever felt lesser because of their Natural role. Be it Bitter Women, or
Abusive Men that caused it, it is still Sad. Anyway... - tha malcontent)
The gap will continue because of a self-perpetuating cycle of workplace gains
for women, according to international outplacment firm Chicago-based Challenger,
Gray & Christmas.
(And one more thing,
in regard to the UPI's obvious bias on the matter... "More U.S. women crack
glass ceiling" "Crack glass ceiling"?... They are now the MAJORITY! (50.6%)
I would say that means they BROKE THROUGH the "glass ceiling"! Sometimes,
the Left is way too easy! - tha malcontent)
"As a growing number move into upper management roles, those further down the
ladder will reap the benefits by increasingly being targeted for advancement,"
said John A. Challenger, chief executive officer of Challenger, Gray &
Christmas.
Bureau of Labor Statistics data indicates that, as of Nov. 30, women represent
50.6 percent of the 48 million employees in management, professional and related
occupations.
In 1983, the first year the government began recording gender data for its
occupational statistics, women accounted for 40.9 percent of managers and
professionals.
"At the computer, women are just as productive as men," said Challenger. "This
fact alone has opened up a world of opportunity for women and is bringing an end
to outdated concepts like the glass ceiling."
