MIAMI (AP) � A South Florida man who won a new trial on federal gun charges because his original jury had too many people with last names starting with the letter G has been acquitted.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP!  This headline, and the corresponding story that the Associated Press felt was fit to post on the main Wire, absolves tha malcontent and associalisticpress.com from any accusations of not being a serious or legitimate source of information due to the occasional sarcastic tone that is found at the ap in it's daily coverage of the AP's blatant Marxist bias!  Exactly how did the Editorial staff over at the AP allow this one to slide?  I noticed no one claimed it!  The other question is, when is Dr. Dre going to sue for copyright infringement?  As far as I could find, there was no reference to ownership of that headline being solely with Dr. Dre and or the Tupac estate and the AP is a "for-profit" enterprise!  The ap, on the other hand, gives the AP, and all other sources of original material for that matter, their "props, G" while staying "not-for-profit"!  Anyway, let's get on with this obvious decline in the journalistic quality of the AP's Wire, shall we! - tha malcontent)

A jury composed of six blacks, two whites and four Hispanics acquitted Roderick B. Carter this week. The 24-year-old Opa-Locka resident had been charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

(If there is proof that this convicted felon was in possession of a handgun, and was only acquitted in the second trial because of the color of this jury, then the system has failed! - tha malcontent)

U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan granted Carter a new trial after Carter's attorney argued that his client's Sixth Amendment right to a jury of his peers had been violated.

(The last time I checked my copy of the Constitution, which constantly resides in my back left pocket, it did not specify a jury of one's peers as long as the color of the "peers" pleases the defense, or the first letter of the "peer's" last name pleases the defense.  Does anyone else see the slippery slope here? - tha malcontent)

Federal jury pools in Miami are selected by dividing potential jurists alphabetically by the first letter of their last name and then selecting letters randomly. Anyone who draws a ``G'' would have a large number of Hispanic jurists.

(And you know how those friggin' Hispanics are when it comes to felonious Blacks with illegal hand-guns!  Do you think that a Cracker could make this same argument without a major NAACP battle ensuing and the "racist" charge being leveled out of every "Free Press" outlet?  The simple question that would be asked would be, "Do you believe that Hispanics are not your peers, and that they are incapable of judging the evidence before them?" - tha malcontent)

Carter's attorney, David O. Markus, argued that because the jury pool was full of names such as Garcia, Gomez, Gonzalez and Gutierrez, Carter, who is black, could not have gotten a fair trial because that jury did not have a fair cross sample of the community.

(And how many Blacks have sat on recent juries in trials against old KKK members where the KKK member's peers, under this story's established standard, would be a bunch of bigoted Southern Whites who would acquit their peer as this new jury did for their "Brotha"?  Everyone has roundly applauded the predominately Black juries who have been finding those old Crackers guilty!  Why the double standard in regard to ethnicity in jury selection? - tha malcontent)

There were 21 people with ``G'' names in the 38-member jury pool for Carter's first trial. Of the 21, 14 were of Hispanic origin. The original 12-person jury seated had seven ``G''-surnamed Hispanic members.

(Anti-Hispanic bias, pure and simple!  Where is the outrage?  Oh, that's right, the #1 Minority in America is the Black community.  Sorry "G"'s, unless your gripe is with the White man, the AP's not on your side!  This story should have been headlined: "Ain't Nuthin' but a Black Thang"!  This one will find a permanent place on the main page of the ap! - tha malcontent)

Iverson Turns Himself in to Police

PHILADELPHIA (AP) � NBA star Allen Iverson surrendered early Tuesday on charges that he burst into his cousin's apartment with a handgun and threatened two men while looking for his wife after an argument.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP II!  If you read this headline a little differently, it sounds as if Mr. Iverson is a magician!  Can you imagine an average, middle American Cracker-ass-cracker, such as tha malcontent, being allowed to turn himself in on his own recognizance after BREAKING AND ENTERING and FELONY MENACING?... Me thinks NOT!  And I don't even have a previous prison term served, nor a prior weapons charge that I pleaded "no contest" to!  You see, in the year 2002, it's not about what color you are, unless you are getting smacked around by White cops!  No, it's about the Benjamins, end of list!  Hispanic, Black and White Cops would have been kickin' my door in and a gun battle would have ensued!  It's funny, but you never hear any of the loud-mouthed, self-righteous, race-baiting Slave Masters applauding the police or even commenting on situations such as this one where the White officers are not beating a "Black motorist"... WHO DESERVED EVERY SECOND OF IT, INCLUDING THE 11 SECONDS THAT THE SECOND JURY FOUND TO BE EXCESSIVE!  Oh yes I did! - tha malcontent)

The Philadelphia 76ers guard and former MVP has been confined to his $2.4 million house since prosecutors announced last week that they would charge him and his uncle, Gregory Iverson, with assault, terroristic threats and related offenses.

(It must be an assumed that this potential "terrorist" is Black, because unlike the King situation, or the more recent alleged "ball-grabber", Mr. Iverson's ethnicity doesn't seem to be an issue with the AP... Curious! - tha malcontent)

The surrender came at around 5:30 a.m., about a half-hour after a convoy left the grounds of his suburban mansion. On the ride to police headquarters, Iverson could be seen wearing a white T-shirt and stretched across the back seat of a green minivan.

Iverson, who had met with lawyers Monday night, also faces gun charges. The 27-year-old and his uncle had been expected to turn themselves in Tuesday, and reporters and photographers had been camped out around his suburban Gladwyne home throughout the night. 

Iverson's attorney, Richard Sprague, said outside headquarters that Iverson would plead innocent to the charges. He declined further comment.

(Unlike most of the DemocRATS constituency base, Mr. Iverson, also a Black man, will NOT be in the "capable" hands of the public defender's office! - tha malcontent)

Donna Sykes, a police inspector, said Iverson would be at police headquarters for at least eight hours. She said supervisors at the police detention unit would make sure that he does not get special attention.

As he prepared to turn himself in, a new voice spoke up to defend Iverson: his mother.

(Imagine any non-rich, Cracker-ass-cracker being treated this way by the AP!  By this point in the story, it would have already been alleged by the AP that the "White male in question", has ties to "White Supremacist" organizations! - tha malcontent)

``He knows he's got to do what he's got to do,'' Ann Iverson said. ``I'm going to stick by my son because I know the man he is. I tell him don't worry about it, everything happens for a reason."

``I know my son,'' she said. ``I know my child isn't capable of this crazy stuff.'' 

His mother arrived at the suburban home about 11:30 p.m. Monday with videotapes of popular comedies, including Eddie Murphy's ``Delirious'' and various Richard Pryor movies. She said she wanted to make her son laugh.

("Popular Black comedians" is more accurate.  Apparently they don't find Carlin funny?  Memo to the AP:  TOO MUCH INFORMATION! - tha malcontent)

Iverson is accused of throwing his wife, Tawanna, out of their mansion during a fight earlier this month, then storming into the cousin's Philadelphia apartment with a gun while searching for her the next night. 

They are accused of threatening two people inside the apartment � 21-year-old Charles Jones and 17-year-old Hakim Carey.

(Chuck Jones is alive?!... And he is a 21-year-old hangin' with Hakim?  Who knew? - tha malcontent)

Iverson had not been seen outside his house since about 5 a.m. Sunday, at the end of a get-together with friends and relatives. The last glimpse of his wife came Wednesday. Neither spoke with reporters.

The couple married in August, two months after Iverson led the 76ers to the NBA Finals for the first time in 18 years to end a season in which he was named the league's MVP. They have two children.

Police have searched Iverson's house and vehicles, but are not believed to have found a weapon. 

As a teenager, Iverson was arrested in a Hampton, Va., bowling alley brawl in 1993 and spent four months in prison before then-Gov. Douglas Wilder granted clemency. The conviction was overturned on appeal in 1995.

("As a teenager"... Hmmm, I wonder if that means 18 or 19?  Soften the SHEEPle up a little with a more innocent sounding term like "teenager"!  Nice work AP! - tha malcontent)

In 1997, Iverson pleaded no contest to a gun charge after police near Richmond, Va., stopped a car in which he was a passenger and found a gun belonging to Iverson and two marijuana cigarettes. A marijuana-possession charge was dropped.

(Gee, a prior history with illegal gun possession!  I hope this jurisdiction has the "Project Exile" program!  Well, there was another fine example of the AP covering for a criminal, who happens to be Black, and has been treated far differently than the average American would be, directly due to his fame, money and ethnicity!  "The media is against the Black man"... Man charged with removing body from windshield

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) � A man has been charged with evidence tampering in the death of a homeless man who authorities say was hit by a car and left lodged in the windshield until he died.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP III!  The last time that I checked, Chante Mallard admitted to the FACT that she was responsible, so that would not make it an accusation on the part of authorities, it would make it what actually happened AP!  For clarification, Chante and this thug who helped her, are BLACK!  I know the "Free Press" will not make an issue of the race of the accused or the victim, so I will!  If the scenario in which this pre-meditated murder (in my opinion) happened, but the race and gender roles were reversed, this is how the "Free Press" would still be reporting on this today: "A White man, Gregory Biggs, with rumored ties to White Supremacist groups, ran down a young, Black, homeless woman in March, leaving her impaled in his windshield, bleeding to death and begging for her life over a period of days, while Mr. Biggs showed her off to visitors and even had sex with a woman while Miss Mallard was left to die in his garage.  Later, one of his accomplices helped him to dispose of the body and they began to dispose of the evidence, including the car, before Mr. Biggs', bragging about the incident at a party, led police to him and subsequently to his arrest and indictment for murder."  I am waiting for the example that will directly compare to this story for the proof that I need that the AP is racist, and so is the rest of the "Free Press" as they follow the AP's lead and continue to bury this story about this Black murderer!  When I get it, and I will, I may sue the AP myself! - tha malcontent)

According to an indictment, Clete Jackson removed the man's body from the car and dumped him in a park to try to conceal the hit-and-run.

("You in some trouble Clete!"... Of course, not with the "Free Press"! - tha malcontent)

A friend of his, Chante Mallard, 26, allegedly told police she was returning from a nightclub October 26 when she hit the homeless man. She said she was scared and drove home with him in the windshield.

(Note the sympathetic tone the AP has towards this admitted murderer!  SHE LEFT HIM TO DIE BLEEDING FOR DAYS WHILE SHE HAD SEX AND PARTIED AP! - tha malcontent)

Jackson, 27, was arrested June 21 after a Tarrant County grand jury returned the indictment. He remained jailed Tuesday on nearly $106,000 bail. His attorney, William Harris, declined to comment, citing a gag order.

(Chante's attorney claimed that she was not "the monster" that the prosecution was making her out to be... Must not be a gag order on that case eh! - tha malcontent)

Mallard was indicted in April for murder and evidence tampering in the death of Gregory Biggs, 37, a former bricklayer living in a homeless shelter. She remains jailed on $250,000 bail.

(Where is all of the excessive personal information about Miss Mallard AP?  You'd be singing a different tune if she was a man... and a Cracker-ass-cracker!  We'd know that there was potentially racist materials found in his apartment and such!  The "Free Press" reported that very thing about a mass murderer a year or so ago the same day he was taken into custody... He was White, of course! - tha malcontent)

A tipster came forward months later and told police Mallard had talked and laughed about the alleged hit-and-run while at a party.

(Here's a slightly different view of the incident that the ap originally posted back in March while the AP chose to ignore it... "According to an arrest warrant affidavit released Thursday, the woman who tipped off police said she, Mallard and several other women were at a party Feb. 15 when Mallard brought up the accident. In recounting how she hit a man while driving under the influence of alcohol and ecstasy, Mallard giggled and remarked that after the accident she had sex with a friend at her home, the affidavit says. According to the affidavit, Mallard told the women that she waited a couple of days for Biggs to die before two male friends removed his body and dumped it in Cobb Park. She said she planned to burn the car and buy a new one after she received her income tax refund, the affidavit says. Police who searched her house last week found the 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier still parked in the garage. Authorities say Biggs could have survived with medical attention.

Calif. Cop in Video Arrest Indicted

LOS ANGELES (AP) � A white police officer caught on videotape pummeling a handcuffed black teenager has been indicted on assault charges, less than two weeks after a beating that has drawn comparisons to the Rodney King case.

"A man has been charged with evidence tampering in the death of a homeless man who authorities say was hit by a car and left lodged in the windshield until he died." - AP... Why it WAS just yesterday that the evidence was shown that race only matters to the "Free Press" when the "bad guy" is (WHITE).  Let's revisit yesterday's opening again, but this time, let's use today's AP standard of whoring the race issue... A (BLACK) man has been charged with evidence tampering in the death (MURDER) of a (WHITE) homeless man who authorities say (AND CHANTE MALLARD ADMITS) was hit by a (BLACK WOMAN, CHANTE MALLARD) with her car and left lodged in the windshield until he died (OVER A PERIOD OF DAYS WHILE PLEADING FOR HIS LIFE WHILE CHANTE MALLARD PARTIED, HAD SEX AND SHOWED HIM OFF TO VISITORS, THAT HAS DRAWN REVERSE RACISM COMPARISONS TO THE TEXAS TRUCK DRAGGING INCIDENT THAT WAS MADE POPULAR DURING THE 2000 ELECTION CYCLE.")  Now lets use the same bracketing for today's pro-Black, anti-White, race-baiting piece of AP TRIPE!  We will bracket the words the AP chose to include to insinuate that race had anything to do with the incident or excessive descriptions designed to incite emotion out of the Black community... Inglewood Officer Jeremy Morse, 24, was expected to surrender on Thursday, said his attorney, John D. Barnett. Morse will plead innocent, he said.

(This is a "bad cop" issue, NOT a "race" issue!  Unfortunately for society, the "Free Press" will forward the latter in hopes of easing some of their own personal White Liberal guilt! - tha malcontent)

``My client believes that an impartial jury will find that the use of force was necessary and he will be acquitted,'' Barnett said.

A grand jury also returned an indictment Wednesday afternoon against Morse's partner, Officer Bijan Darvish. He will face a charge of filing a false police report, Barnett said, and was also expected to surrender Thursday.

A bystander taped Morse on July 6 slamming 16-year-old Donovan Jackson onto the trunk of a squad car and then punching him in the face.

(The only thing that the AP left out of this deliberately REDUNDANT paragraph, is the races of each party!  They will probably have modified by this afterlunch! - tha malcontent)

The encounter has been compared to the 1992 beating of King by four white Los Angeles police officers and has sparked numerous civil rights protests and calls for police reform.

("Black Motorist Beaten By Four White Officers"... Over and over and over and over and over and over!  Even the 11 seconds that the second jury found to be excessive, in my humble opinion, was about 2 minutes short!  King skated on the crimes he committed that night, including various traffic crimes, and two assaults on officers while resisting arrest, and subsequently went on to skate on future crimes!  Did you know he beats women? - tha malcontent)

The felony charge Morse faces applies to any person in law enforcement who is accused of using his or her position to unlawfully assault or beat a person.

Morse has been placed on paid leave pending the outcome of federal, state and local investigations. 

``Jeremy is not the racist here,'' Morse's stepfather, Roger Pettit, told KCOP-TV on Wednesday. ``The racism is coming from officials from the city of Inglewood."

(Apparently Roger isn't reading the AP!  According to the Mother of the "Free Press", it's ONLY a race issue, no more, no less! - tha malcontent)

A watch commander for the Inglewood Police Department declined to comment Wednesday night on the indictment. A spokesman said the district attorney's office would not comment until the indictment was unsealed in court, but Barnett said Morse was in fact indicted.

The bystander, Mitchell Crooks, 27, was staying in a motel across the street from a gas station where Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies had stopped Jackson and his father, Coby Chavis, because their car had expired vehicle tags.

Inglewood officers had arrived to aid the deputies as Chavis was being questioned in the city, located next to Los Angeles. 

Morse, a three-year veteran of the police department, said in a police report that Jackson was arrested after he struggled with officers, scratched Morse above his ear and grabbed the officer's crotch after being handcuffed. Morse was in ``extreme pain'' and punched Jackson to make him let go, according to the report.

The teen's relatives have said he is developmentally disabled and does not quickly process commands.

(Also known as "retarded" according to the Supreme Court's recent ruling on the death penalty and "low IQ" people! - tha malcontent)

Darvish, who wrote the police report, said he punched Jackson twice in the face before the teen was handcuffed because he believed the boy would hit him. He did not describe how Jackson was placed on the trunk of the car, saying only that officers ``assisted Jackson to his feet and had him stand facing the police vehicle.'' 

Crooks was arrested last week on an unrelated warrant after prosecutors sought his testimony before a grand jury investigating the Inglewood arrest. 

Prosecutors refused to say Wednesday if Crooks testified about the arrest. He was flown to northern California to serve a seven-month sentence for driving under the influence, hit and run, and petty theft.

Jackson has sued the city of Inglewood, four of its officers, Los Angeles County and three sheriff's deputies. The federal lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and alleges misconduct and violations of his constitutional rights.

Seven Charged in Ill. Beating Death

CHICAGO (AP) � Authorities charged seven people Saturday with first-degree murder for the deaths of two men who were stomped and beaten with bricks and stones by a mob after a traffic accident.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP V!  Looks as if the ap's estimates about the "accused" murderers in Chicago were accurate.  The focus of this story SHOULD be the animalistic brutality of gangs in this nation, but it will not be.  If the 7 animals pictured below had been in a White "gang", such as the "Skin heads" or the 'KKK", the focus would be on the ethnicity, and the problems this country faces from such "White supremacist" groups, but not when it's the other way around.  This story will not be the focus of the "Free Press" next week when people are actually paying attention to the news again either!  No, it will be buried in the same grave that the Chante Mallard story resides in!  For the record, it will take the AP 19 paragraphs to point out the FACT that these 7 accused animals are in gangs and have previous criminal records.  The AP will not speculate about whether any of them are related to "Black supremacist" groups, as they have in the past when White males have brutally murdered.  This inconsistency is a product of the AP's collective "White guilt".  They are still punishing themselves for past injustices that they themselves are not guilty of!  As far as these seven brutal animals are concerned, if they are found guilty, all seven should be beaten to death... END OF LIST!  FYI: In the original AP posting of this story, headlined "Police Charge 7 in Van Crash Beating", by Maura Kelly on August 3rd @ 1:37 in the afterlunch, the FACT that these animals were thugs was illustrated in paragraph #3: "The men charged ranged in age from 16 to 47, and all had criminal backgrounds and were gang members, authorities said."  I wonder why this information has been relegated to the 19th paragraph in what will most likely be the final posting of this TRIPE?  I think we all know the answer to that one, don't we! - tha malcontent)

Each also was charged with felony murder and other counts in the deaths of Jack Moore, 62, and Anthony Stuckey, 49, the Cook County State's Attorney's office said.

Robert Tucker, 20, and Antonio Fort, 16, were ordered held without bond. The others � Henry Lawrence, 47, his 43-year-old brother, Roosevelt, Lamont Motes, 20, James Ousley, 31, and Ricky Lawson, 43 � faced bond hearings Sunday, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said they could seek the death penalty for six defendants, but added that decision has not been made. Prosecutors said they are prohibited from seeking the death penalty for Fort because of his age.

Saturday's hearing came four days after a mob pulled Moore and Stuckey from the van, which hurtled a curb and struck a group of people sitting on a stoop of a home in the Oakland neighborhood. Three women were hospitalized after the crash.

As the injured lay on the ground Tuesday night, the mob beat to death Moore, who was driving, and Stuckey with their hands, feet, bricks and stones, police said. 

Tucker broke the driver-side window with his hands, punched Moore, pulled him out of the van and began to stomp on him, said Assistant State's Attorney Megan Goldish.

She said Tucker gave a videotaped confession and had cuts on his arms that were likely caused by the broken window.

Fort, who was charged as an adult, allegedly helped pull Stuckey out of the van and kicked and beat him with a slab of concrete. 

Fort's lawyer, Lawrence Wolf Levin, said Fort plans to plead innocent.

``If he was there, he was there to help (the injured),'' Levin said. Fort was to begin his sophomore year in high school this fall and worked at a fast food restaurant.

Cook County Circuit Judge Nicholas Ford condemned the mob's action. 

``It is apparent that if this is their idea of justice, they're in the wrong city,'' Ford said. 

Moore's family were told of the charges soon after they were filed, said his second cousin Janet Jenkins. 

``We've got mixed emotions right now,'' she said.

Autopsies revealed that Stuckey, an unemployed day laborer and factory worker, and Moore died from multiple injuries and blunt trauma, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Toxicology tests showed that Moore was drunk at the time of the crash.

Police said the van would be examined. They didn't know what caused the vehicle to veer off the street, but called it an accident.

After the beating, community activists and relatives of the two men urged witnesses to come forward and police tried to track down dozens of witnesses. 

Goldish said authorities have handwritten statements from witnesses implicating the defendants, all of whom authorities say have criminal backgrounds and were gang members. Fingerprints from two of the men were found on the van, police said.

On Saturday, one of the three people hit by the van remained in the hospital. Shani Lawrence, 26, was listed in critical condition at Mount Sinai Hospital. 

Her cousin Jenny Lawrence, 18, was released from a hospital Friday. 

Shani and Jenny Lawrence are related to two of the men arrested � Henry and Roosevelt Lawrence � but the state's attorney's office was unsure of the relationship.

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A mob of at least 18 youths severely beat a man with bats, boards and shovels after he punched one of them in the mouth for throwing an egg at him, police said.

Kids beat man to brain death, police say

A mob of nearly 20 kids beat a man brain dead Sunday night after he confronted them for throwing an egg at him and punched one teen in the mouth, police said.

Blood remains splattered Monday afternoon on the front porch of the duplex at 2021 N. 21st Lane, where Young was chased by a mob of youths and severely beaten with bats, shovels and boards, police said.

Charlie Young Jr. tried to escape his attackers by seeking refuge in this duplex on N. 21st Lane but was dragged out of the lower level unit by his attackers and beaten until he was brain dead, police and the landlord said.

Three suspects, 10, 13 and 14 years old, were in custody Monday, police said. The victim, Charlie Young Jr., 36, remained on life support.

Police said the group chased Young onto the porch of a house at 2021 N. 21st Lane and used bats, shovels and boards to pummel him in an attack that left blood splattered floor to ceiling.

At one point, Young forced his way into the lower unit in a desperate bid for safety, the landlord said, but the kids dragged him back outside, where the beating continued until police responded to a neighbor's 911 call.

The severity of the attack demonstrated an escalating problem that plagued the area near Johnsons Park all summer, shaken neighbors say: out-of-control teenagers who roam the streets intimidating residents.

Incidents of mob violence are "tragic, unexplainable events" and extremely rare, said Stan Stojkovic, associate dean of criminal justice at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Stojkovic said such incidents are kicked off by a precipitating event, likely in this case when, police say, Young struck a 14-year-old boy in the mouth.

"The dynamic just unraveled and there was no control," Stojkovic said. "It's not something the criminal justice system really can predict."

Several details of the attack remained unknown Monday night, such as why Young was in the area so far from his home in the 5600 block of N. 72nd St., if the kids knew him or where the confrontation began. It also is unknown what charges the boys in custody will face, although they could be charged as soon as today. Police continued to search Monday for as many as 18 other juveniles involved in the assault.

The viciousness of the beating was evident Monday by the blood splattered on the floor, walls and even the 9-foot porch ceiling at 2021 N. 21st Lane. A pile of latex gloves lay at the base of the steps and the footprints of emergency workers and police who had to walk through puddles of blood to secure the scene Sunday night were visible.

A window was jarred out of its sill and a doorknob was broken, apparently as the mob pulled Young out to continue the beating.

Police say the attack occurred around 10:30 p.m. Sunday after Young chased a small group after the egg was thrown. He caught a 14-year-old boy and punched him in the mouth, knocking out a tooth, police said.

The juveniles quickly assembled a larger group of 18 or 20 kids ranging in age from 10 to 18 and chased Young to the porch. Police say the mob then beat the man with shovels, boards, sticks and bats.

Gerard Johnson, who said he owns the duplex where the beating occurred, came by the area around 2:30 a.m. Monday making a nightly check when he discovered broken crates and discarded bats strewn on the ground.

Johnson said tenants told him Young eventually was thrown off the porch onto the street in front of the duplex.

A man and woman and a teenage boy live in the lower unit of the duplex, the door Young tried to enter, Johnson said. The upper unit is inhabited by three adults and an infant, he said. He would not name the tenants, and no one answered the doors throughout the day.

"In this neighborhood we have roaming teenage bands of kids - and we're talking about very young kids - out at that time causing trouble," Johnson said, adding that he does not live in the immediate area.

He said police have been called multiple times, but by the time squad cars arrive the kids are gone.

"They don't go to school, they don't do anything," he said. "They hang out."

Neighbors said Monday that crime in the area is all too common and that they were afraid for their safety to talk on the record about what might have gone on Sunday night.

One woman did say about 20 teenage boys had been gathering in the neighborhood since 8 p.m. Sunday and acting "hyped."

"Something was in the air, for real," she said.

She said the boys hovered on the corner of 21st Lane and Brown St., already carrying crates, poles and baseball bats.

The boys were still out around midnight Sunday on the corner of 23rd St. and Brown St. while police secured the area and gathered evidence, said a 29-year-old man who also wouldn't give his name. The man was walking at that time with an 18-year-old male friend, whom the boys started taunting to fight, he said.

"They don't know what they're getting themselves into."

Trial in Brutal Killings Grips Kan.

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) �� The grim details of how two brothers allegedly committed a nine-day crime rampage that left five people dead are being closely monitored by a community that is still shaken nearly two years after the slayings and more than a month into the brothers' murder trial.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP VII!  Can I assume that the AP means "African American, and or "Black" when they use the term "brothers"?  Of course, these two ANIMALS are physically siblings, so I know that the AP is not referring to their ethnicity as they did with a sadistic redundancy from 1991 to present day with the "King beating".  This is from an AP story titled: " The Legacy of Rodney King", on March 3rd of this year, and I might add, posted at the top of the main Wire, we have this piece of race-baiting TRIPE!: "Mere mention of the 1991 beating causes those in power to cringe as they recall the morning the city awoke to a chilling video of the black motorist being clubbed and kicked over and over by four white police officers as he writhed in agony on the ground."  AP writer Linda Deutsch goes the hell out her way to make the King incident an issue of racism, as the AP did back in 1991 along with all of it's children in the "Free Press", refusing to acknowledge that King was not simply a "Black motorist", he was in the commission of a crime and before he was on the ground, he attacked the officers and refused to submit even after 2 tazer shots while his Black passenger was left unharmed!  To clarify, where the AP is incapable, due to their own collective "White Liberal Guilt", the two ANIMALS on trial currently in Kansas are Black, and all of their victims were White.  You have heard next to nothing about this case due to the fact that the accused, murderous, rapist Sodomists are young Black males, and their victims were all White.  If the race roles were reversed, the AP would be tripping all over itself to post this at the top of main Wire daily.  Instead, like the stories about the Black animals in Chicago and Milwaukee who brutally murdered their own in DemocRAT "Great Society" Ghettos, or Miss Chante Mallard who ran down a White homeless man, drove him home and left him to die impaled in her windshield in her garage, this story was not even posted on the Wire.  I had to find it through an AP affiliate.  It must really be a miserable existence to be as self-loathing and dishonest as the majority of the White employees appear to be over at the AP!  Memo to the AP:  If my mentioning race in this case makes me a "White Supremacist", as you weakly attempt to insinuate later in this story, then what does your injecting race into "White on Black" events make you? - tha malcontent)

The apparently random abduction of five friends from a home on Dec. 14, 2000, is the darkest detail to surface. Investigators say the victims were forced to engage in sexual acts and withdraw money from automated teller machines. Then they were all shot, execution-style, as they knelt in the snow on a dark soccer field.

(I believe they are accused of sodomizing one of the men too!  Maybe the AP is burying this story from two fronts, race and sexual orientation! - tha malcontent)

Four of them � Aaron Sander, 29; Heather Muller, 25; Brad Heyka, 27; and Jason Befort, 26, died.

Befort's girlfriend, then a 25-year-old teacher, survived. Bleeding from a head wound, she ran barefoot and naked through the snow for nearly a mile to find help. The brothers were caught within hours.

Reginald Carr, 24, and Jonathan Carr, 22, now face a total of 113 charges, including murder. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

In opening arguments, Reginald Carr's attorney, John Val Wachtel, alleged Jonathan Carr committed the crimes with a third man who has never been caught. Wachtel said his client was selling drugs the night of the quadruple homicide.

Jonathan Carr's lawyer, Mark Manna, argued that no evidence connects his client to the earlier robberies. He discounted ballistics evidence, saying that even if Reginald Carr is connected to the crimes, it does not mean his client is.

The alleged crime spree began on Dec. 7, 2000, with the abduction of Andrew Schreiber, who was also forced to withdraw cash from an ATM but was unharmed. Schreiber testified Monday that when he later saw a news report of the arrest of a man accused in the murders, he recognized Reginald Carr as one of two men who abducted him.

The crimes escalated on Dec. 11 with the shooting during an attempted robbery of Ann Walenta, 55, who later died.

The case has become a rallying cry for white supremacists groups across the nation because the suspects are black while all the victims were white. Weeks before the trial was set to begin, a Nazi group held a rally in Topeka where the case was repeatedly cited.

(But when it's a White punk gunning down a Black couple and then robbing them, it's not racist for the AP to make light of the race of the parties involved?  This is PURE CRAP AP and you know it! - tha malcontent)

Prosecutors are not trying the case as a hate crime. They say robbery was the motive.

Wichita Mayor Bob Knight � who has made improving race relationships a cornerstone of his administration � said Friday that regardless of race and ethnicity, what occurred could be described as "raw, brutal and evil."

"You have innocent people tortured, killed, humiliated by someone who is little more than an animal. I'm not looking at it as a black and white issue," Knight said. "I am not a big fan of capital punishment, but if anything deserves people losing their lives, it is this kind of heinous crime."

Jurors appeared riveted by the survivor's testimony on Oct. 10.

"As I was kneeling, there was a shot. And I don't remember, we were all screaming, but I can remember hearing Aaron say, 'please no' � he used the word 'sir.' There was another one, and another one, and then another one, and then everything kind of went gray as I was shot," she said.

She said she felt the impact of the bullet, but did not fall forward until one of the men kicked her. She heard the men get into the truck and waited until she could no longer see headlights before she got up to check on her friends to see if they were alive.

"I went to Jason," she said. "I rolled him over. He had blood coming out of one of his eyes. I still had on my sweater and I took it off and tied it around his head to act as a tourniquet to try to stop it."

The trial began Sept. 9. Jury selection lasted 18 days. The state was still presenting and planned to resume on Monday.

Dan Walker, a construction worker who was working at a job at the Sedgwick County Courthouse where the case is being tried, spent his lunch break watching the trial on TV.

"It was so bad what was done to these girls and these boys � it wasn't just homicide, it was brutal murder," Walker said.

Denise Taylor, a courthouse worker, says she listens to or watches the trial coverage every day.

"I want to see what it is that provoked them to do such heinous crimes, and why five people couldn't overpower them to save their lives," Taylor said.

("...and why five people couldn't overpower them to save their lives."  Classic example of blaming the victim or at least sharing some blame because the accused are Black.  If Denise is Black, this makes sense.  If she is White, she probably voted for Algore in 2000 and is carrying my share of the guilt for the White race on her back!  When I say that Rodney King should not have had a prior record, or outrun 3 counties worth of police and State Patrol, or exited the vehicle and attacked the police, or refused to stay down after 2 tazer shots, or reached for the female officer's gun subsequently authorizing lethal force, all of this combined with the FACT that the Black passenger in Kings car did not receive a scratch, I'm the racist!  With all of those facts at hand, the AP continues to call King a "motorist"!  Is this getting any clearer?  - tha malcontent)

But at Augusta High School � where Befort was a science teacher and junior varsity basketball coach � the radios have been turned off in the administration offices.

The deaths hit teachers and students hard, and the school was shut down for the funeral, said superintendent Jim Markos.

"That was kind of closure for us, and it was a good closure," Markos said. "Now it was reopened again with the trial."

Police Arrest 2 Men in Sniper Case

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) � Two men, one of them described as an Army veteran who recently converted to Islam, were arrested at a roadside rest stop Thursday for questioning in the three-week wave of deadly sniper attacks that have terrorized the Washington, D.C. area.

(ap) - Ain't "Nuthin' but a "G" Thang" AP VIII!  Just "men" eh AP?  Not "Angry White Men" as the "Free Press" has been hypothesizing, almost hoping for, now for weeks?  Not "White Men who have ties to White Supremacists" as the "Free Press" always says when it IS a White man?  For those of you who only "hear" the news, you are probably unaware of the race of the "Honorable" John Allen Muhammadd... He is Black.  By all accounts, his is angry at America also.  And it seems that he belongs to a group that has ties to Black Supremacist groups, the Nation of Islam.  If you gauge NoI by it's leader, then you can just call NoI a Black Supremacist group!  Speaking of NoI, there are reports that John worked security for the "Million" Man March.  Will this be focused on in the "Free Press" as it would be if he worked security at a Klan rally?  Both groups are racist, so what's the difference?... One is Black, and the other is White, that's the difference!  Most of you ignorant SHEEPle on the Left have already dismissed me as a racist on this subject.  That's unfortunate, considering that I am only being consistent in my coverage with how the AP covers White killers or criminals.  Honestly, I was about to explode if I heard another Guilty White Liberal "expert" on TV or Talk Radio assert that it is most likely an "Angry White Male" who is doing this.  Now that we are finding out otherwise, race is going to mysteriously disappear from the mouths of the "Free Press".  If the "Free Press" refers to this suspect as Black in any report, and that it may have played a part in his rampage, I will be shocked!  I guarantee you if the reverse was true, race would be THE story.  You would also have Ted "Bridge over troubled waters" Kennedy (M) and Patrick Leahey (M) calling for legislation to do something about all these White Supremacist groups.  I guarantee you that no one has the spine, on the Left, or the Right for that matter, to call for dealing with the ever growing problem of Muslim/Islamist Terror in this country.  It will take a couple of more of these situations, probably something massive, for those who are once again asleep at the wheel to finally wake up!  Someone name a Muslim Cleric who has denounced the 11th or any other Terrorist act?... The arrests � linked to a telephoned boast about a deadly Alabama robbery � raised hopes of a conclusion to the intensive and often frustrating investigation of the shootings that have killed 10 people and critically wounded three others since Oct. 2.

The men taken into custody were not immediately charged in the sniper attacks, but authorities made it clear the arrests were considered pivotal. A newspaper report said the men were motivated by anti-American bias; police in Washington state, where the men recently lived, said they were not part of any organized group.

President Bush was told that federal authorities were reasonably sure the case had been solved, a senior administration official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity. 

``There's a strong feeling these people are related to the sniper shootings,'' said Douglas Gansler, state's attorney in Maryland's Montgomery County, where the sniper task force is based. Asked if he believed the sniper was still at large, he said ``no."

The arrests occurred hours after authorities descended on a home in Tacoma, Wash., believed to hold clues important to the investigation. They then issued a nationwide alert for the car, spotted by a motorist and an attendant at the rest stop. 

Charles Moose, the Montgomery County police chief who is leading the investigation, had said John Allen Muhammad, 42, was being sought for questioning in the slayings and called him ``armed and dangerous.'' Muhammad was said to be traveling with a juvenile, identified by a law enforcement as John Lee Malvo, 17.

(Listen to Chief Moose and tell me he isn't ripe for a skit on SNL with Tim Meadows and a bottle of Cognac!  Since the first time I heard him speak I can't see anything else! - tha malcontent)

The key break, authorities said, was a phone call to the sniper task force tip line suggesting investigators check out a liquor store robbery in ``Montgomery.'' The caller claimed credit for both the robbery and the sniper shootings, officials said. 

Investigators checking the tip matched it with the Sept. 21 liquor store robbery in Montgomery, Ala., in which two employees were shot, one fatally. Montgomery Mayor Bobby Bright said Malvo's fingerprint was found at the scene on a magazine about weapons.

Police then traced Malvo to a home in Tacoma, Wash., that was searched Wednesday by authorities looking into the sniper shootings. Malvo had been living in the home with Muhammad, a source told the AP, also on condition of anonymity. 

A composite sketch of the suspect in the liquor-store shootings was made and ``there are some very good similarities'' to Malvo, Montgomery Police Chief John Wilson said. He said the gun used in Alabama was not the same as the one in the Washington, D.C.-area shootings, however. 

Members of the sniper task force arrested the men without incident at 3:19 a.m. off I-70 in Frederick County, Md., about 50 miles northwest of the nation's capital, said Larry Scott, an agent for the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. State police said the men offered no resistance.

``I'm confident that these are indeed the people'' sought in the killings, a law enforcement source told the AP. 

The relationship between Malvo and Muhammad, who also goes by the name John Allen Williams, was not clear, but several newspapers reported that the teen is Muhammad's stepson. 

The Seattle Times said Muhammad changed his name after converting to Islam.

Several federal sources told the Times that Muhammad and Malvo may have been motivated by anti-American sentiments in the wake of the Sept. 11 attacks. Both were known to speak sympathetically about the men who hijacked jetliners over Washington, New York and Pennsylvania, the sources told the newspaper.

(If you are in this country, and you are sympathetic to Terrorism, it is either time that you leave and never return, or you need to be tried for Treason. - tha malcontent)

Neither man was believed to be associated with the al-Qaida terrorist network, the sources said. 

The Times reported that Muhammad was stationed at Fort Lewis outside Tacoma in the 1980s, served in the Gulf War and was later stationed at Fort Ord, Calif. Malvo, who authorities said is a citizen of Jamaica, attended high school in Bellingham, Wash., last year. 

The witnesses at the rest stop called police at 1 a.m. after they spotted the men sleeping inside one of the cars sought in the investigation � a blue 1990 Chevrolet Caprice with a New Jersey license plate. Micah Rasmussen, a spokesman for the New Jersey Department of Transportation, said the car was registered to Muhammad at a Camden, N.J., address.

(So Muhammad lived in Washington and New Jersey?  Sounds like some organization and planning to me! - tha malcontent)

ATF spokesman Joseph Green said the car was being fingerprinted and dogs were sniffing it for explosives at the rest stop. 

On Wednesday, FBI agents spent hours at the Tacoma home, eventually carting away a tree stump from the yard and other potential evidence in a U-Haul truck.

(Did anyone see the O.J. coverage of that last evening?  That will come to a complete halt now that we know that the suspect is a Black man! - tha malcontent)

Scott, the ATF spokesman, said the stump would be brought to the agency's lab in Rockville, Md. On background, law enforcement sources said they believed the stump might contain bullets or fragments. 

Several hours after the arrests, spokesmen at the Pentagon said they had no information and referred calls to the agencies handling the case. Defense officials had said last week that, at the task force investigators' request, the Army was searching its records of people trained as snipers for any former or current service member who might be involved in the shootings. 

A Fort Lewis spokesman did not return a call for comment on whether Muhammad was stationed on the base. 

FBI agents visited Bellingham High School, 90 miles north of Seattle, on Wednesday. Mayor Mark Asmundson told the Bellingham Herald the agents were apparently seeking information on a male teenager who once attended the school and an older man. He said both left the area about nine months ago.

Bellingham Police Chief Randy Carroll said his force had known about Malvo since December 2001, when a police officer at the high school filed a suspicious persons report because the youth arrived at the school without transcripts or other papers. 

Carroll said investigators believed the two arrested men were acting on their own, not as part of a group.

Pfc. Chris Waters, a Fort Lewis soldier who lives across the street from the Tacoma home, said he called police after hearing gunshots in the neighborhood nearly every day in January. 

``It sounded like a high-powered rifle such as an M-16,'' he said. ``Never more than three shots at a time. Pow. Pow. Pow.''

One of Muhammad's ex-wives, Mildred, was questioned by the FBI on Wednesday, said Adele Moses, who identified herself as the woman's sister. She said Mildred was living with her in Clinton, Md., southeast of Washington.
