Grotesque Media Dishonesty on Bush "Leak" Response

By tha malcontent (Direct Descendent of the Founding Fathers! - tha malcontent)

(ap) - For the Record, this Rant was Inspired by The Chris Matthews Show on 06.18.2006.  I have contacted his people on this, and they Thanked me for my Input.  I would Love to see if this is Dealt with Editorially in the Future.

Chris and his (4) Media Guests, Obviously Frustrated that Rove "got away with it" in the Plame "Leak" Case, were all patting each other on the backs as they Regurgitated this Old Lie by the "Free Press" as some sort of Concession Prize, which I would like to now Debunk:

July 19th, 2005 AP:

"Bush says he will fire anyone who breaks law"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8605680

"WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush said Monday that if anyone on his staff committed a crime in the CIA-leak case, that person will "no longer work in my administration." His statement represented a shift from a previous comment, when he said that he would fire anyone shown to have leaked information that exposed the identity of a CIA officer."

"Asked at a June 10, 2004 news conference if he stood by his pledge to fire anyone found to have leaked Plame's name, Bush answered, "Yes. And that's up to the U.S. attorney to find the facts."

The AP has Conveniently Ignored the Facts and Context of this February Statement that Bush (43) was re-Confirming to the Reporter:

Bush welcomes probe of CIA leak
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/09/30/wilson.cia/

February 10th, 2004: "If there's a leak out of my administration, I want to know who it is," Bush told reporters at an impromptu news conference during a fund-raising stop in Chicago, Illinois. "If the person has violated law, that person will be taken care of.

I just watched The Chris Matthews Show on Sunday and all (4) Media Guests agreed that the President was not being Honest, and had gotten away with it in the Leak Case.

They were Claiming that, as the June Story does, Bush (43) changed his Standard on the Punishment for anyone in his Administration Leaking.

This is Factually Incorrect.

The Deficiency in Honesty is on Chris, his Media Guests, and the "Free Press" in general.

The President was CLEAR the first time he said it, and in passing a couple of months later Concurred with his Previous Statement, which was if someone "VIOLATED LAW".

I have seen some Dishonesty from the "Free Press" over the years, but this one goes beyond what I have become Accustomed to.

I have read this Lie the same way via every Liberal Mainstream Outlet I could find.

If they had any Shame.
