FDR's 1942 Midterm Whipping: 45 House 8 Senate

(ap) - In 1942, FDR's Democrat Party lost 45 House seats, 8 Senate seats and a number of Governor's Mansions.

This was just a year after this country rallied behind going to War for the attack on Pearl Harbor, yet things were not going well in the War, and the President's Party took a serious hit politically in that Midterm Election A much more decisive hit than the GOP took last Tuesday.

Thank God FDR had the resolve to continue the fight.

And I Pray that at least for the next 2 years, that this President has the resolve needed to continue the fight.

Our Enemy's assumption that a Vote for DemocRATS by Americans was a Vote for retreat, can not turn into a reality of retreating on our part.

This Enemy was targeting us for the 11th in the mid-90's, and if anyone thinks that Terrorists are going to call a truce with us because we cut and run in Iraq, then they are nave in ways that are dangerous.

Not engaging our Enemy after February 26th, 1993 led to 8 years of attacks on us by Terrorists, climaxing, at least for now, with the attacks on the 11th.

Not engaging our Enemy in this War in the future will not end their goals of attacking us, nor will abandoning Israel, nor will any concessions that War is not perfect, nor will begging them to stop.

They will either be Reformed, or we will continue to live with 11th's and worse for generations to come.

Which is it going to be?
